  2. Record your working definition of “innovation” – come to a consensus with your group
  3. Go find 3 concrete examples of automated tech that fit your definition of innovation. Look specifically for tech related to 3 different industries (space, healthcare, business, etc.)
  4. Suggested pavilions: China, Saudi, Switzerland, Korea, Netherlands, Opportunity, Mobility, Sustainability

11:00 Coding/Robotics 

  1. What kinds of robots work at Expo 2020?
    1. What does each do?
    2. Who does each replace?
    3. What are the limits of each robot?
  2. Suggested pavilions: Emirates, UK, Estonia, Lithuania

12:00 Pitching 

  1. Go find your country’s pavilion.
  2. What is innovative (if anything)?
  3. Pavilions as pitches (Strangeness of one country one pavilion).
    1. Are they accurate?
    2. Successful?
    3. What do they say? To whom?
    4. Identify pitch strategies used.
  4. Visit Botswana & Mexico and evaluate them again.
  5. Suggested pavilions: Morocco, Mexico, Finland, Guatemala, Philippines, USA, Russia, Botswana, Mexico

13:00 Lunch

14:00 Ethics 

  1. What are the implications of robots replacing humans in every stall?
  2. Find a pavilion where the automated technology has potential ethical implications.
    1. Example: Saudi, China, etc.

  1. Discuss in your groups:
